Mark has been looking at getting more storage space on Red Rover. There is a large empty space under
the passenger side of the cab but access was a problem. While we had the side fairings off for the
paint job, Mark analyzed that adding storage, even with inconvenient access, would be a benefit as we
want to carry stuff that will not be used very often. |

Look at all that space under that truck. Here the upper step panel is removed. Mark decided to used the upper step panel as the access to the new storage bay. |

Ron Knight welded up a frame for us to create the storage bay. A piece of plywood made the floor of the bay. The bay is not enclosed. We found a Rubbermaid Tub that fills most of the storage space to protect what we will be carrying.

You can see the Rubbermaid Tub through the door in the upper step panel that is used for fuelling when the tanks are located forward. We can use this small access door for small items or remove the upper step panel for large items.

Here the upper step panel is removed to show the access we have to the storage tub.

We have room for some small storage tubs next to the main tub.

<update> We found the Rubbermaid Tub was really too long for the space. The end would compress to fit but the cover would not close well. We found a Sterilite Tub that fit better. |

In the large tub we carry the three 75' hoses we use for the macerator pump. We use them very seldom and this was an ideal
places for them. We use some small storage boxes next to the main tub. This compartment is not rain tight so we have to make sure all the small boxes had sealing tops. |
