We had a
Winegard Trav'ler automatic roof dish
installed on Joey for normal satellite
viewing. Our experience with Tige
proved that a couple of times a year we will need to use a ground
tripod dish because of trees and other obstructions. When we had Tige built, we had extra coax cables installed for using ground tripods. When you buy a mid-range motorhome like a Bounder, you do not get to add items to the build process with extending the build time for an extensive amount of time and a lot of dollars. Therefore, we needed to add coax cable to use a ground tripod dish. |
||
The challenge is getting a coax cable from behind the bedroom TV to someplace to connect the tripod dish, preferably in the Service Bay.
The Service bay is under the cabinet on the right.

The first thing was to check the devices mounted on the back wall of the bedroom TV cabinet.
The EMS control panel was the larger of the possible things to try. There was a much larger panel in the Intellitec Master Control but the odds were that the cabling to that panel would be too extensive. We found numerous cables running downward in the wall next to the window. |

Using a wire fish, we eventually found we could run a cable that showed up in the cabinet under the windows.
Under that drawer was some water lines from the washer/dryer. We followed that path to get the coax cable into the drawer area in the cabinet to the right. |

In that drawer area, we found a water line running through the floor. We found that water line went into the Service Bay, where we wanted to get to. |
||
Behind the bedroom TV, a switch was mounted to switch between the Winegard Trav'ler roof dish and the ground tripod dish.

In the Service Bay, we added a coax plate next to the standard Park Cable input plate.
