We went to Neah Bay WA the home of the Makah Indian Tribe to tour the Museum and to go to Cape Flattery on the Pacific Ocean. Cape Flattery is located in the Makah Reservation. |
||
The Makah Museum focused on the Ozette Archaeological Site. The is were a village that had been bury under mud for about 500 years.
This building was constructed the same way the Makahs built in the Ozette Village. In general, I was surprised at the level of wood construction techniques used by the Makahs.

In the beginning the trail to the Cape edge didn't seen too bad.
The trail got stepper and was a challenge to walk of the tree roots
that crossed the trail. The trail was elevated in some places. |
