Before the Revolutionary War, George Washington established his military credentials during the French Indian War between Great Britain and France. Fort Ligonier was a forward outpost of Great Britain during the French Indian War. The current Fort Ligonier was recreated on the exact same location as the original fort using construction techniques used at the time. Because the British were great at saving things, there was numerous plans to build the fort recreation. |
