USAF Academy


6/12/2013	Our location - Colorado Springs, CO USAF Academy
Since we were staying on the USAF Academy base, we decided to tour the Academy. .School wasn't in progress and touring the Facility is limited to the Visitor Center and the Chapel.

	On the was to the Visitor Center, we swung by the Hospital.
	The Barry Goldwater USAF Academy Visitor Center. The Center was name after Barry Goldwater who was a very strong influence with the Air Force in its early days.

	The most iconic structure of the Academy is the Chapel. While the structure seemed strange at the time, we think it fits the Air Force.

	Lofty rise of the roof.
	There is this huge organ in the Choir Balcony of the Protestant section.
	Interesting combination of stained glass and windows.

	The lower level of the Chapel has the Catholic, Jewish, and Muslim sections. This is the Catholic section.
	The site we were assigned was big enough, just.

	Some of the dorm and training buildings. The smoke in the background if from a forest fire just a couple of miles from the Academy.
	Around the center of the Academy buildings is the field and the parade areas. Located at the corners are classic aircraft of the Air Force.

	The staff parking for the Academy. Lots of staff for the more than 4,000 cadets at the Academy.
