Dry Creek, LA

Plug Nickel Farm

Last year on our way east to Pensacola, FL, we visited with Danette & Dwayne Boyd  at their home in Lake Charles, LA. About that time they had purchased a hay farm, the Plug Nickel Farm in Dry Creek, LA, about 50 miles north of Lake Charles. Again this year on our way east, we visited Danette and Dwayne.  But this time we got to stay at the farm.  What a treat!

Complete with its own logo, the Plug Nickel Farm is just beautiful. 80+ acres of pastures, hay fields, trees and livestock.

The main house. Danette has done a terrific job taking an interior stuck in the 70's to a beautiful updated living space.  Construction continues.  Lots of workers around while we were there.

Mark is aligning the satellite Internet dish.  It took a little while.  This was the first time in 4 months that he had to set it up, as we had cable modem while in Retama Village.

Red Rover, Tige and Sparky all hooked up and ready to depart.  On the other side of the barn in this shot was a brand new full-hook-up concrete pad.  We loved our visit!  Great accommodations and even greater hosts.  Thanks Danette and Dwayne.
