3/2-3/5/2008	Our location - Lake Charles, LA Duane & Danette's
We stopped in Lake St Charles to visit friends Duane Boyd and his finance Danette. Bring gracious hosts, they took us on a tour of the Lake St Charles area.

	We had to cross the channel from the Golf of Mexico to Lake Charles. A ferry is used for this crossing. The ferry is unloading the vehicles it brought over.
	It is our turn to load.

	This channel actually goes from the Gulf of Mexico to Lake Calcasieu and the river up to Lake Charles.

	A work boat. There are a lot of work boats here supporting the off-shore oil wells.
	We stopped at the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge. The sign warns about alligators.

	The Sabine NWR has an elevated boardwalk so you can get a good view of the vegetation and the animals.
	As the sign indicated, there was a alligator.
