We extended our stay in Asheboro, NC for two days to allow the big nor'easter with its rain and very high winds to pass. As it was, we experienced very strong wind gusts as we ascended the mountain from North Carolina to Virginia. This is a view of Mount Pilot in north eastern North Carolina. Mt. Pilot, the mountain and the town, are just a few miles away from Mt. Airy, NC, the home of Andy Griffith. Those old enough to remember the Andy Griffith show may recall that the town of "Pilot Mountain" was a neighboring town to the fictional Mayberry. |

Even though the weather in the east in April can be a bit capricious, one of the best things about traveling from south to
north is the ability to follow the spring north. The Commonwealth of Virginia has the loveliest blossoming trees along I-81. One of
my favorite is the redbud. And, as you can see, I just kept taking pictures as we motored along. |

However, all trees are not yet leafed out as this one clearly shows!

After two days of travel from North Carolina, we arrive at our home for three weeks, Ramblin' Pines Campground, just west of Baltimore, MD. As Maryland is our former home and our doctors are all here, we have come back for the annual check-ups. This campground is situated in the rolling hills of Carroll County.
An old red barn is the landmark at the entrance to the campground.
The Welcome Wagon. Secured entry.
Office and store. Camp sites from afar.
Even with tall trees in the way, we could get the satellite Internet dish pointed just over the trees.

Those trees may not look very high but they were enough to block our satellite TV dish from getting a good signal. Back to broadcast TV, eek!
