LOW - Dick Reed Driving School

7/9 - 7/16/2006

Our location - Life On Wheels, Moscow Idaho

Dick Reed's RV Driving School

In addition to attending the Life on Wheels seminar sessions, we also registered to take Dick Reed's RV Driving School.  Dale was really excited about taking this course, where she would learn how to drive Red Rover pulling the 5th wheel trailer.  But as the time for the lessons got closer, Dale started getting anxious.  After all, she had never "muscled" 42,000# down the highway ever before.

This is Frank Piccolo, Dale's eternally patient instructor.  He calmed her fears, gave her great instruction, and put her on the road with our rig!  By the end of the second day, Dale was traveling a 2 lane highway at 55 mph, making right and left turns in traffic, and backing into a makeshift campsite.  Backing is not Dale's best skill.  So, she will just let Mark take care of that chore!

Dale will definitely need more practice on the road.  But, Dale knows that even now she could get this rig to safety in an emergency.  That was the goal!
