By having a truck bed built by a commercial body builder is that the builder can change the weight class of your truck.

When we had the truck bed built to make Red Rover a truck instead of a tractor for the benefit of Maryland licensing, we had the builder put a new weight class sticker on.
Weight Class Change The original GVW was 50,350 lbs., Class 8
Weight Class Change The new GVW is 31,350 lbs., Class 7
