2006 HDT Rally Cessna Visit


Our location - Wichita Kansas - 9/30 - 10/8/2006 Cessna Aircraft Plant Visit
	Kenny Doonan used his pull to arrange plant tours of the Cessna Business Jet operation.
	We were escorted through the Cessna Sovereign production line. That is the second largest model Cessna makes.

	Our tour guide was the head of marketing of one of the Cessna Business Jet lines. As important as his job is, he spent the time to answer all our questions.
	The amazing thing about the manufacturing of the business jets, it that the volume and complexity does not support robotic manufacturing. All those rivets are hand punched.

	A Sovereign almost done. Next step is test flight.
	After the test flights, the plane is prepped for painting.

	At the end of the tour, we were taken to the display room where interior mockups of the Cessna Business Jet models were available for prospective customers to get an idea of what their future jet will look like.

	Very elegant.

	We could order a jet but it would take almost three years for delivery because of order backlog. Cessna is doing well in the airplane business.
